I believe in the idea of soulmates. In fact, I believe in it so much that I have secured not only one, but two of them. And better still, my wife doesn’t mind!
Actually, I haven’t really done anything to win or deserve them. Truth be told, they’ve been with me since my birth, and they were with me when I took my first doddering steps. And ever since, they have carried me through all manner of terrain, over the bumps and dips and the mountains between. They have escorted me through school and bumbling adolescence, and will accompany me throughout adulthood into my inevitable dotage; such is their unquestioning blindness that I call loyalty.
I like to treat them every now and again, to dress them up in leather and take them out for a night on the town. And we sleep in late the morning after, we three. Sometimes I flaunt them, have them run naked through summer sands. We brazenly essay ourselves past scandalised sensibilities with nary a thong in sight. And, yes, we have been known to dance up a storm in fields of fancy. If necessary, we will also tread through dangerous waters to get to that other, often unseen, side.
My soulmates, my partners in life, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. And let the rhythm of our steps remain as unbroken as the bonds of love.
Hey, there's something wrong with my spell checker...
